Children at the Forum

The Roman Forum seems such a solemn site. As we looked in and snapped photos, however, I watched two school groups go through and this little girl. As she walked through the Forum with her mother, she plucked a poppy and danced all through the space. For her, it was a dance space, a place for expressing joy. She was a delight.

Once she made it all the way through, she sits to look at the Arches, with her parents also gazing upward (at left). This is how most people behave in this space, but I like that she got to dance, first. Here's what she is looking at, at right.
